Whatever your musical tastes, the TC Cinders is designed for transparency.
CINDERS OVERDRIVE FULL
Run it into a clean amp and sample the full spectrum of Cinders' capable control scheme, or redline a dirty channel to push rhythm and lead tones over the edge. Smoldering when cranked yet ice cool when you roll your volume back, the TC Cinders gives you that sought-after tube amp playing response. Here's some great news: the tube-tinted character of a fabled blue dirt box is now available at a barn burner of a price! Like the pedal it's based on, the fiery TC Electronic Cinders overdrive seeks to capture the sound, handling, and intensity of a cranked tube amp, even at bedroom levels. I also have a source audio aftershock on the way and a Bass tube screamer being modded, When they arrive I can let you know how those two sound as well, given they are designed for bass.Overdrive Pedal with True Bypass Switching and 9V Battery/9VDC Power Supply Operation : The stock tubes for the shuttles were aimed at a lot of transparency and not a lot of coloration, so looking at a tube with a different character profile may be a benefit. If your looking for an overdrive I highly recommend you guys check this one out.Ĭlick to expand.Okay, As far as the shuttle, are you still using the stock preamp tube? I had been doing some experimenting and different preamp tubes can react quite differently with the same drive, I was originally running a mullard 12 AX7, which was great clean but did not respond well to overdrives, I then tried a ruby 12ax7 that one has good balance between clean punch and nice overdrive whiled using a pedal, the last one was a tung-sol 12ax7, that one was fantastic for overdrive but was very warm a woolly when run clean so it got lost in the mix a little, I decided to stick with the Ruby as it is well balanced for the two sounds. For an impulse buy at 50 dollars, I am extremely happy. There are definitely some OD's that are more feature rich and may have more sophisticated designs but I think I will be hard pressed going forward to find a better value with the sound this pedal yields. I have to say I am extremely pleased with this pedal, it is the closest I have gotten to the Overdrive Sound I have had in my head for some time. I tested it a little more by myself tonight without the band around so I could here the nuances and it passed that test as well. I just threw this pedal onto the board right when I got to practice, I hadn't even had a chance to Velcro it to the board, but it sounded really great. My guitarist who is an effects aficionado was also extremely impressed, especially at how well the "low end was preserved", his words.

The pedal is super transparent so your natural sound comes right though and just adds gain on top, no need for a blend. This pedal was absolutely singing when I hooked it up to my rig. It wasn't my rig but I said, I'm going to be at practice in a half hour, if it doesn't play nice with my amp, it's GC, I can bring it back and on top of that its 50 bucks! I did a quick demo in the store and I was very impressed. I looked it over and it was just an analog OD, nothing digital no tone prints and on top of that it was 50 bucks, I figured this pedal was designed for guitar but something told me to give it a try. I am at the accessories counter, I look down and notice this olive colored pedal in the case, a little on the larger side, it says Cinders overdrive and written across the top is TC Electronic, though it didn't look like anything I had seen before from them. I was talking with the guy behind the counter a little, he then went to help another customer. The other night I was on my way to practice and needed to pick up a 1 spot, stopped in at a GC (was on the way) and grabbed the power supply. I have been searching for a good warm organic sounding overdrive for quite a while.

Did a search, and hadn't seen any posts about this pedal, I also understand these are on the newer side so I figured I'd go ahead.
